Family History Software Training Links

Many of you are using software to record your ancestry. Do you know all the features in your software package? If not, then use the training that is supplied by the authors of the software.

If you use PAF, an excellent training program is available for download through ldscatalog.

Click on this link.

Click on the link on the page and then fill in your name and email address. You can then either download just the training program or both PAF 5.12 and the training program. The training program has to be installed on your hard drive just like any other software you install.

To access the training after it is installed, launch PAF then click on 'Help' at the top of the screen and then choose 'Lessons' from the drop down list. Your web browser will launch if it isn't already open and you can then view the training. Be sure to watch for icons that indicate video links. Click on these icons when you see them and the program will show you the embedded video in addition to the text description.

If you use Ancestral Quest for your records, they too have a training video available for viewing on the web.

The video is located at:

I haven't found online training for the other major genealogical software titles.

If you haven't considered creating video biographies, the below video clip will help convince you to get started on them.
